Wisdom Spots

Before and After treatment: one treatment of the Erbium Laser for a prominent age spot or seborrheic keratosis on the lip.
Affectionately known as a ‘wisdom spot’ (but also as senile wart, barnacle) these harmless lesions are hated by many, especially when on the face.
Resurfacing laser is the treatment of choice for such lesions in a cosmetically sensitive area like this, in order to reduce the risk of scarring or loss of pigment.
Careful lesion selection by your dermatologist is crucial. Numbing cream is used for comfort but not essential. Controlled ablation of tissue occurs, microns at time, one week of a superficial graze, usually healing with minimal or no scar. Strict sun protection & wound care are recommended for the best results. Our nurses can guide you on the best way of doing this.
